The cause of the late George Michael’s death has been confirmed.
The legendary singer, who passed away unexpectedly on December 25, died of natural causes. According to the senior coroner for Oxfordshire, the 53-year-old suffered a dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver.
“Enquires into the death of George Michael have been concluded and the final post mortem report received,” a statement from the coroners office reads. “As there is a confirmed natural cause of death, being Dilated Cardiomyopathy with Myocarditis and Fatty Liver, the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further enquiries. No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy.”
Following the coroner’s revelation, Michael’s boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, wrote on Twitter: “The truth is out.”
