Jason Derulo has become the latest celebrity to experience what he is calling “racial discrimination” on a popular airline.
The singer blasted American Airlines on social media on Wednesday and suggested that after ten years of spending “millions on your airline throughout the past ten years between myself and my entire staff but have still experienced racial discrimination today at miami airport!!!”
According to Jason, 15 police officers were called during an apparent disagreement with the pilot. “It’s not ok that when you find out who I am the gears change,” he wrote. “F*ck that!! I want answers.”
Derulo further detailed the story in a video obtained by TMZ and explained that he and the pilot got into the alteration after Jason demanded the flight turn around after pulling out from the gate.
Per the singer, he was traveling with eight team members but left one behind to catch the next flight because he was unable to check his near 19 bags. So Jason and his seven other team members boarded their original flight, but when they were getting ready to take off, the pop star’s friend called and said AA was going to charge him 6k to check all of his bags.
That’s when Jason requested for the plane to turn around but the pilot got all up in arms. Eventually, it became so heated, the pilot went back to the gate and when Derulo got off the plane, 15 cops were waiting.
It’s still unclear if Jason made it to Miami.
