Miss Universe 2017 Is Gonna Be Lit: Steve Harvey, Boyz II Men, Cynthia Bailey & More
The 2017 Miss Universe pageant is going to be lit. Let’s first start with this: Steve Harvey will be returning to host. Let’s all just pause …
It was one year ago that Harvey made the ultimate blunder during the annual show when crowing the winner.
As each contestant anticipated the announcement of Miss Universe, Harvey accidentally crowned Ariadna Gutierrez, Miss Colombia as the winner. Sadly, it was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who should have been crowned and Miss Colombia as first runner up.
“Let me just take control of this,” Harvey said during the incredibly awkward moment. “This is exactly what’s on the card. I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. It was on the card.”
Following the mishap, the Internet would NOT let the talk show host live. Memes were on fire. Jokes were non stop. Jokes were even made during award shows that followed. The mistake, however, wasn’t enough to keep Harvey away because the host was asked to come back for yet another round.
It was also announced on Tuesday morning that super-group Boyz II Men will be performing for the show and will join The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Cynthia Bailey who will be judging.
The other judges include former UNICEF ambassador Dayanara Torres, Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen, First Miss Universe from Angola Leila Lopes, PAPER magazine’s Mickey Boardman and Emmy and Tony Award-winning producer, Francine LeFrak.
Miss Universe will air LIVE from the Philippines Sunday, Jan. 29 (7:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
