Public feuds, debilitating breakups and abominable arguments are just three of many incidents that erected during the course of Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s relationship.
And now, just one year after the birth of their romance and just one month after the birth of their first child together, Rob and Chyna are apparently officially over. So what exactly happened over the course of the year? Here’s the full breakdown of the 2016 whirlwind romance between the two reality stars.
Mid January 2016: The pair confirmed their relationship via Instagram after Chyna posted a photo of Rob’s arm wrapped around her neck. At the time, folks could not get a handle of the family’s new family tree: Blac Chyna share’s a son with Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend, Tyga. Basically, Rob and his sister Kylie could potentially share the same stepson one day.
Late January 2016: Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian moved in together. At the time, Kardashian started leaning on Blac to help him lose weight. He apparently moved in so he could use the former stripper’s home and gym equipment to get himself healthy again. Just one month prior, Rob was diagnosed with diabetes.
February 2016: Engagement rumors started to surface after BC started sharing social media photos with herself sporting a diamond ring. First, it was a snapshot on Instagram of she and Rob all cuddled up. But it’s the caption that raised eyebrows. “Missing bae,” she wrote, stamping the caption with a diamond ring! Yes, diamond ring. Then it was the images of Black in Trinidad for Carnival that led folks to believe the pair was engaged.
March 2016: Breakup rumors hit the Web after Rob deleted all his posts of Chyna on Instagram. The reality star eventually shut down the gossip with a message to fans that read: “Chy and I are not broken up we just feel like it would be a lot healthier for our relationship if we kept a lot more to ourselves. It’s impossible to have a positive relationship with so much negativity from the media and outsiders and we would appreciate it if everyone respects that,” Kris Jenner’s only biological son wrote, stamping the message with two diamond rings.
April 2016: The engagement became official. In April, the pair confirmed that they were engaged to be married. BC posted a pic flashing a huge sparkler with the caption, “YES !…!…!” After Rob popped the question, Kim Kardashian’s little brother went to Ace of Diamonds strip club with his new fiancée to celebrate.
May 2016: Just one month after becoming engaged, the pair announced they were having a child together. The lovebirds shared the big news on Instagram with an emoji of Blac rubbing her baby bump.
June 2016: The couple announced they were getting a reality show together on the E! Network. Rob & Chyna, which just wrapped Season 1, covered their engagement and Chyna’s pregnancy, along with their other day-to-day events.
September 2016: Rob and Chyna confirmed on social media that they were having a baby girl. The big news was first revealed during the premiere episode of the couple’s E! reality show. Cameras followed the engaged couple inside their doctor’s appointment where it confirmed their first child together would be a girl.
Late September 2016: In efforts to retaliate against his famous family, Rob tweeted the phone number of his sister, Kylie, who as previously mentioned, is the girlfriend of Blac’s baby daddy. Kardashian eventually tweeted that he was upset that Chyna was not invited to a shower the family was throwing for him. It was later revealed that the baby shower incident was a simple misunderstanding.
November 2016: Rob and Chyna welcomed Dream Renee Kardashian on November 10, 2016 in Los Angeles. Dream was born at 9:18 a.m, weighed in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was born via c-section.
December 17, 2016: Just one week before Christmas, Blac left Rob … literally. According to Kardashian, the mother of two packed up the house she shared with her fiancé, including the nursery, her son King’s room and the kitchen before taking off.
The final saga of the pair’s relationship first started after Chyna’s social media accounts were hacked. First, messages started to pop up of Chyna chatting with other men via direct message and complaining about her relationship with Rob.
Then messages between Chyna and her best friend were posted on Instagram. In the messages, Chyna suggests Rob is fat, lazy and insecure. “Imma give Rob 1 year to get it together. Or I’m gone,” one apparently read.
After the shared messages, Rob wrote on IG: “Chyna knew exactly what she was doing to get me. I can’t believe she did this to me,” Rob wrote. “And this isn’t for some ratings this is my real life so please understand I’m just being open right now. Cuz if it was for ratings I wouldn’t explain all this here. And with Chyna’s messages and her leaving with everything and the baby I am broken.”
“I truly loved Angela,” he said in a Snapchat video. “I gave everything I owned for her. Didn’t know I was just part of her plan. I really believed she was in love with me the way that I was with her and I am so hurt and never felt this before.”
As of Monday morning, December 19, the personal and emotional posts from both accounts were deleted.
TimesUp! Tracee Ellis Ross Wants More Money For ‘Blackish’
Tracee Ellis Ross is reportedly the latest star tackling gender wage gap in Hollywood head on.
As the #MeTooMovement continues to stay relevant around the world and the TimesUp campaign continues to grow, women are starting to speak out about making less money than their male co-stars.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ross makes significantly less money than her black-ish co-star, Anthony Anderson, and now is fighting for equal pay. Per the report, “Ellis Ross feels that if she isn’t brought up to Anderson’s level, she may opt to appear in fewer episodes to make up the disparity by guesting on another show.”
A source at ABC also suggested that a “new deal will significantly increase her compensation and cautioned that Anderson and Ellis Ross’ roles aren’t equal given that he has been attached to Black-ish from the start and is an executive producer.”
SIDE NOTE: That was also the argument when E! News host, Catt Sadler stepped down due to making less than Jason Kennedy. At the time, the network claimed Jason had other duties, which also included his contributions to the Today show.
Ross has yet to comment on the report, but if she does take a step back, this means the show will be more male dominated; after all, Zoe, played by Yara Shahidi, is now in college and has her own spinoff show, Grownish.
