Sacramento Kings star Matt Barnes is a wanted man after reportedly choking a woman inside a New York City nightclub.
TMZ first broke the story; while at Avenue Nightclub on Monday morning, Barnes apparently got into an altercation with three different people, which ultimately ended with him putting hands on all parties involved.
Per the news outlet, the athlete got into an argument with a woman at the club and attempted to choke her. That’s when two other people tried to intervene; however, Barnes wound up hitting both of them.
TMZ captured Barnes and his teammate DeMarcus Cousins leaving the venue following the incident and in the clip, you hear Cousins say something like, “Matt hit the s*** out this ni***!”
Just hours before Barnes arrived to the club, the father of two posted this snapshot on Instagram with the caption: “@brandwills here goes your photo bro.. You know I hate taken these [email protected] selfies. Ha! But this jacket & shoes on point..S/O @jerrylorenzo for the kicks! @dsquared2 coat @fearofgod shoes.”
The baller, who was in town playing the New York Knicks, has not responded to the incident.
It definitely was a rough night for the athlete, who not only lost to the Knicks 106-98, but was taunted throughout the game by fans chanting Derek Fisher’s name. Fisher is the retired former teammate of Barnes who is now dating his ex-wife, Gloria Govan.
Calls to the Kings have not been returned.
