Kandi Burruss’ 14-year-old daughter, Riley, is still a tad hesitant about possibly rekindling her relationship with her biological father, Russell “Block” Spencer.

Burruss first spoke about her first child’s father during a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, suggesting that he is a “poster boy for deadbeat” and that he’s gone “years without checking in.”

She also explained during an emotional conversation with co-star, Shereé Whitfield, that after Riley was born, Russell was emphatic about not wanting to be in their lives. “I told him that day, ‘That’s fine, motherf*cker, because you’ll never have to worry about how she is. You’ll need her before she needs you.’ And I meant that sh*t. I meant it.”

But now, as chronicled on the hit Bravo series, Spencer is ready to step up and be a father, but Riley isn’t quite open to the idea.

While on the red carpet for the EBONY Power 100 gala on Thursday night, Kandi told HipHollywood exclusively that “we are still kind of in it. Still trying to figure it out. Riley’s dad has still been trying to reach out to try and start a relationship with her.”

The mother of two continued, “But on the other side of that coin, Riley’s not really into it, into the idea. I want to be positive and I try to encourage her to be open-minded, so that’s where we are at.”

According to the reality star, Spencer “wants to start trying but she [Riley] feels like, ‘I’m 14 honey, I don’t have time.'” Burruss, however, still feels like “it’s not too late because even with my own father, we had that weird non-communication and I just don’t want that for her.”

Kandi is also the mother to 11-month Ace Wells Tucker, whom she shares with husband, Todd Tucker.

To say Wonder is a must see movie is an understatement! Not only will the film touch you and inspire you to be a better person, it will also entertain you from start to finish.

But don’t take our word for it. HipHollywood sat down with the film’s stars Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson who shared their excitement to bring this heartwarming story to life and how they channeled their real-life parenting skills into the role.

“I think we felt a responsibility to be authentically parents and authentically parents to these two kids, said the 50 year old mother of three. “And I think that’s why you really believe these four people are family and are really having this experience together.”

In the film based on the NY times best seller, Roberts and Wilson play the parents of a teenage daughter (Izabela Vidovic) and 10-year-old boy (Jacob Tremblay) with facial differences entering mainstream elementary school for the first time.

When asked if they had any advice for their ten year old selves, Roberts said: “I have a ten year old son and I tell him to run.”

Meanwhile Wilson says he remembers 5th grade vividly, and enjoyed having his brother Andrew Wilson at the same school to protect him. “It helped so much having an older brother who was already at the school, so that would be the advice I’d give, have a cool older brother.”

Wonder hits theaters November 17, just one day before Wilson’s 49th birthday.
