Kylie Jenner ditched the AMAs this year for one reason and one reason only: puppies.

We can’t make this up, people. The reality star, whose dear friend Gigi Hadid hosted the main event, opted out of attending the annual awards show on Sunday night because her dogs Norman and Bambi had little puppies.

The 19-year-old explained her reason for not attending the show via Twitter, writing: “For those asking… I was planning on going to AMA this year but Bambi went into labor. So I’m here taking care of puppies. Yes I knew [she was pregnant] but I just wasn’t planning on breeding my dogs. It only takes one time people lol.”

She later confirmed that the dogs had two puppies and that she’d be keeping them both. Tyga’s girlfriend also revealed she hasn’t picked out names quite yet.

Most of Jenner’s fans gave the reality star a pass … one fan commented: “TAKING CARE OF PUPPIES IS BETTER THAN GOING TO THE AMAS.” But others were more concerned that the AMAs missed out on Kylie’s fashion choice. “Aw this is so cute, but AMA is not the same thing whitout King Kylie,” someone else wrote.

As the AMAs were in full swing, Jenner was busy sharing photo of her new family members on Snapchat.

The 19-year-old explained on Twitter that, while she knew her pup was preggers, she “wasn’t planning on breeding my dogs. It only takes one time people lol.”

This is not the first time Kylie has skipped out on an appearance — In fact, it happened just last week. The social media influencer was supposed to join her sister Kendall on The Late Late with James Corden, but she cancelled after “feeling sick.”

Unfortunately, paparazzi captured Kylie that same day out and about with her boyfriend’s son, King Cairo. Oops.
