Hollywood affairs, sadly, are way to common. Time and time again, we hear of stars ending their relationships due to infidelity. Some celebrities manage to end their marriages privately without the world catching wind, but for others, their cheating scandals get publicized and blown up in the media.
Here are five major celebrity cheating scandals you probably forgot about.
Tiger Woods: Tiger Woods’ cheating scandal will go down in history as one of the top athlete scandals of all time. In November 2009, it was reported that Woods cheated on wife Elin Nordegren with Rachel Uchitel.
Shortly after the the initial cheating report, Woods reportedly got into a car accident that knocked out his teeth. Turns out, the accident never happened; rather, the new rumor was that his wife busted his teeth with a golf club.
Woods released a statement suggesting, “This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
Following the drama, however, more women began to step forward, claiming they had relations with Woods. One was Jaimee Grubbs, who claimed she slept with the athlete in 2007. A voicemail was later released of Tiger asking for Grubbs to “take your name off your phone? My wife went through my phone and may be calling you. So if you can, please take your name off that. Just have it as a number on the voicemail.”
Woods released another statement admitting his faults, saying, “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves.”
More women continued to come forward and by the end of 2010, Tiger had been linked to seven different mistresses. Elin left Tiger and their divorce was finalized in August 2010.
Meghan Markle Is Headed Back To The Small Screen…Kinda
Meghan Markle may have left USA’s Suits after seven seasons, but the actress’ likeness will be making it’s way back to a TV very soon. Lifetime has announced that it’s planning a film based on Markle and her soon to be husband, Prince Harry’s whirlwind romance.
The cable network, known for it’s biopics, made the announcement on Sunday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.
“And before the wedding of the year takes place between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Lifetime will debut a movie revealing how the stars aligned for this royal romance,” said Lifetime’s head of programming Liz Gateley.
Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story (working title) will trace Prince Harry and Markle’s relationship from the day they met to the overwhelming media attention surrounding their eventual engagement, which was announced in November. It will also touch on their courtship after they were set up by mutual friends and depict Markle’s life as a divorced American actress.
Menhaj Huda, who helmed an episode of E!’s fictional Royal Family series The Royals is on hand to direct. Casting is currently underway.
No official date has been announced, but given Lifetime’s track record, fans should expect the movie to release a few days before the couples May 19 wedding. Back in 2011, Lifetime aired William & Kate: The Movie just days before the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge married on April 29.
