The culprit in the Drake heist has been captured.
The man who stole $3 million worth of bling from Drake’s tour bus earlier this week has now been identified as 21-year-old Travion King.
King was taken into custody on Wednesday while on the Arizona State University campus. According to officials, the suspect was arrested by Arizona State University police for trespassing and was then found with the briefcase which carried the stolen items.
The Phoenix Police Department released a statement that read:
“An arrest has been made in this case. 21 year old Travion King has been arrested and charged with the theft from 201 E Jefferson Street. The property has been recovered as well and officers will be working with the victim to account for the items reported stolen. Surveillance footage assisted with identifying King who has done contract work with local venues in the past. King was arrested early this morning by Arizona State University Police in Tempe, AZ, for one count of trespassing on their Tempe Main Campus. He was booked into Maricopa County Fourth Avenue Jail on the trespassing charge until Phoenix Police discovered his whereabouts at the jail. He is in the process of being re-booked into jail on the new charges.”
As previously reported, the jewelry was taken during Drake’s show at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in downtown Phoenix where Drizzy was performing. It was quickly confirmed that the jewelry did not belong to Drake, but rather his DJ, Future the Prince.
King, who police reportedly say “had done contract work with local venues in the past,” was booked for felony burglary.
