Ciara and Russell Wilson recently tied the knot during a lavish ceremony at the Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England. But what if we told you the lovebirds called off their wedding twice before finally making it down the aisle? Well, believe it, because it’s true.
Wedding planner Mindy Weiss dished to The Knot that Cici and the Seattle Seahawks quarterback changed plans more than once — which for any planner isn’t exactly a walk in the park.
“I did the whole thing — three times,” Mindy said. “They were first getting married in North Carolina, but they called it off due to the transgender bathroom laws. They were gonna go to Paris and it ended up being [Couture] Fashion Week and it was really difficult.”
She added, “We ended up in London. They wanted to be away. And we found a castle that was an hour out of Liverpool and they had about 110 guests.”
As for details we never heard about from the most talked about nuptials of the year, Weiss dished that, “Inside the castle, they had a chapel but it was too small because her dress was 13-feet. Her dress in person was so much more spectacular than in the pictures, though in the pictures, they’re beautiful. In person, it was shockingly beautiful.”
Ciara wore a custom Roberto Cavalli wedding dress and exchanged vows in front of her family and friends, including Lala Anthony, Serena Williams and Kelly Rowland.
SAG Awards Fashion Hits & Misses: Tracee Ellis Ross, Halle Berry, Lupita Nyong’o & More
The 2018 SAG Awards were full of fashion hits and misses. Here are some of the best and worst looks of the night.
Tracee Ellis Ross always knocks it out of the park and tonight, the black-ish star definitely hit a home run in a gorgeous white Ralph and Russo gown. Her co-star, Yara Shahidi, also stole the spotlight in a classic black pantsuit.
No surprise here, Halle Berry killed it in a sheer Pamela Roland dress, meanwhile, Lupita Nyong’o stunned in a strapless Ralph and Russo ensemble. Niecy Nash, who was also one of the night’s presenters, brightened the room with not only her smile, but her sexy green Zina Zaki dress.
SAG nominee, Mary J. Blige, glowed in a magical black and white Jean-Louis Sabaji masterpiece and we can’t forget about Sterling K. Brown’s wife, Ryan Michelle, who looked like a princess in a soft pink dress.
Black-ish star, Marsai Martin, was all grownish in this adorable wine MIRI couture gown.
As for who completely missed the mark, Maya Rudolph who who wore this head to toe floral ensemble; sorry girl.
