It’s been over a year since “Real Chance Of Love” star Ahmad Givens lost his battle to cancer. The reality star’s untimely passing was especially hard on his best friend and brother, Kamal Givens, who credits God and family for helping him pull through.

“Dealing with a death, I found out, to get over a hump like this and to deal with it … God. You gotta keep God first. Without the Lord, I don’t think anybody could get through a death,” Kamal told us exclusively while on the red carpet for the LA Soul Music Festival.

Kamal explained that, “Every day is a learning challenge dealing with a death — one day you’re up, one day you’re down.”

He added that his fans proved to be a tremendous support system, as well. “Without my fans, I don’t know how I could get through it all. So much love,” he said.

Givens is currently working on a new reality show, chronicling his music career as he continues to deal with the loss of his brother.
