David Gest, the entertainer who former I Love New York star, Tiffany Pollard mistook for the death of David Bowie, has died.

Gest, who is also the ex-husband of Liza Minnelli, was found dead in his London Hotel room early Tuesday morning. The producer’s friend and former bodyguard Imad Handi confirmed the news in a statement that read:

“It is with great sadness that I can confirm that David Gest has died today.”

Following the news of Gest’s passing, Pollard’s management company pulled the popular “David Is Dead” T-shirts from the reality star’s website.

Earlier this year, a video of Pollard went viral of the reality star learning about the death of Bowie. However, when receiving the news, Tiffany thought it was her Celebrity Big Brother UK co-star, Gest, who had passed away.

“You’re playing, I know you’re joking,” Pollard responded, before running through the house only to find Gest sitting in bed. “David, she just told me that you’re dead. Why the f*ck would she say that?”
