Columbus Short Fails Drug Test, Tests Positive For Cocaine And Marijuana
Columbus Short might be in violation of probation after testing positive for cocaine and marijuana.
According to the Associated Press, court records show that the former Scandal star failed a drug test last week and now, a court date has been set for May 9. The new findings could result in a violation of probation in a recent felony assault case.
In September 2015, Short pleaded no contest to assaulting a man in front of Gabe’s Bar and Grill in Los Angeles in March 2014. According to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, the 33-year-old pleaded to an amended felony count of assault likely to cause great bodily injury.
The actor was immediately sentenced by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Leslie Brown to three years formal probation, 60 days of community labor and ordered to complete 26 anger management classes.
Short made headlines last month after apparently cheating on wife, Karrine Steffans. Steffans blasted her husband, Columbus Short for being unfaithful and later blamed his bad decision making on addiction. “My hope is that I never feel the need to defend myself publicly against his public rants, accusations, half truths, and lies, for these are the traits of an addict and those dealing with mental illness,” Karrine wrote on Instagram following the incident.
