Exclusive: Gloria Govan, I Did Not Get Derek Fisher Fired And Does He Have Beef With Matt Barnes?

By  |

Gloria Govan is finally going on the record about her relationships with Derek Fisher, and any part she may have played in Fisher losing his job as the Head Coach of the New York Knicks.

From the start it was a messy union, considering the fact that Gloria’s ex, Matt Barnes was once Fishers teammate when the two played for the Lakers. There was also a well publicized altercation between the two men at Gloria’s house during training camp in the fall, that had people questioning Fishers leadership abilities and Barnes sanity. Well finally Gloria is speaking out about it all.

When asked if she felt responsible for her new boo getting the ax Govan told HipHollywood exclusively, “I don’t think so, I don’t think so at all. This is really a business. I think people forget. It’s not anything personal.” The former Basketball Wives LA star also opened up about co-parenting with Matt while still dating Derek. “It takes a lot of patience,” Govan revealed. “I really have to pull a lot of strength from my relationship with God … and my boys. When I look at them I don’t ever want to be responsible for them not having a relationship with their dad.”

Now keep in mind that according to several sources Fisher is still owed close to 9 million dollars on his guaranteed contract with the Knicks and you can understand why Gloria and Derek were all smiles at the “Meet The Blacks” premiere, where the actress — yes Gloria has a role in the film — also dished on vacationing with Derek, possibly doing a reality show with him and whether or not they’ll be heading down the aisle. Check it out!
