Did Pink just join the growing list of celebrities who criticized Kim Kardashian for her recent nude selfie? Possibly.
On Tuesday, in efforts to shout out women on International Women’s Day, the singer posted a lengthy message on Twitter praising women who us their brains and strength, not their body and sex.
It’s unclear if Pink’s statement was a direct aim at Kardashian, but she wouldn’t be the only star slamming the beauty for flaunting her body on social media. As previously reported, Bette Midler, Chloe Grace Moretz and Piers Morgan all spoke out about Kim’s nude image, something that the 35-year-old mother of two just does not understand.
After a near 24 hour Twitter war between Kim, Midler, Morgan and Moretz, the reality star took to her blog to address the controversy. “In all seriousness, I never understand why people get so bothered by what other people choose to do with their lives. I don’t do drugs, I hardly drink, I’ve never committed a crime—and yet I’m a bad role model for being proud of my body?” she wrote.
Kim added, “I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world. I am allowed to be sexy.”
