Melissa McCarthy’s latest film may be called The Boss, but we had to ask the comedian if she ran that title by the original Lady Boss, Diana Ross before making her film. “Ummm let’s be honest, she’s the real boss,” said McCarthy. “She’s more than the boss, she’s the queen, of everything.”
In the film, McCarthy plays Michelle Darnell, an obnoxiously wealthy CEO (a la Martha Stewart) who ends up in jail for insider trading. McCarthy dished to HipHollywood about crafting the zany character some 15 years ago, and wanting to empower women to be a boss in their own lives. Check it out!
The Boss is in theaters April 8th.
