Bobbi Kristina: Cause Of Death Revealed On Late Star’s 23rd Birthday
Bobbi Kristina’s autopsy reports have been revealed, coincidentally, on what would have been the 23rd birthday of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s only child together.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner released a statement Friday morning and revealed that Brown died from Lobar pneumonia, caused by Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy and water immersion combined with mixed drug intoxication. Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy is one of the most common types of brain damage caused by oxygen loss.
Per the press release, obtained by HipHollywood, the underlying cause of death was the immersion associated with drug intoxication. The drugs involved included “marijuana, alcohol (ethanol), benzoylecgonine (a cocaine-related substance), benzodiazepines (medications used for sedation or to treat anxiety), and morphine. It could not be determined from toxicology tests whether the morphine resulted from heroin use.”
The report also states that Bobbi’s “death was clearly not due to natural causes, but the medical examiner has not been able to determine whether death was due to intentional or accidental causes, and has therefore classified the manner of death as Undetermined.”
BK was found face down, unresponsive in a bathtub full of water on Jan. 31, 2015 insider her Georgia home. On July 26, after being in a coma for nearly seven months, the aspiring singer died while in hospice care.
The case of death was released after a court order signed on March 3, 2016 vacated the former court order to seal medical examiner records.
