Kendrick’s Big Night: Sweeps Rap Category, Wins 5 Grammy Awards
The biggest names in music descended upon Staples Center in Los Angeles Monday evening for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, but there was one artist who stole the show.
Kendrick Lamar not only won 5 of the 11 awards he was nominated for, but also gave the best performance of the night. Lamar hit the stage to perform his Grammy nominated track “Alright” and “The Blacker the Berry” and gave an emotional and political charged performance that earned him a standing ovation.
HipHollywood was on the red carpet and talked to the guests about Lamar’s big night, and also got their opinion on the Run DMC tribute not being televised (it was apart of the non-televised pre-show), and the late Natalie Cole not receiving a tribute performance during the evening.
