In case you thought “Netflix and chill” meant literally watching Netflix and chilling, you were not the only one.
It turns out, Serena Williams also took the new catchphrase, rather, the new term for a date night, for its literal meaning. “I have to tell you, I thought the same exact thing,” the professional tennis player revealed in the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar after a reader asked if she was “naïve” for thinking “Netflix and chill” was just that simple.
Williams added, “When I say ‘Netflix and chill,’ that’s what I mean. I guess you and I are just old-fashioned—if you can call Netflix old-fashioned!”
In the issue, the beauty also gave some dating tips, including why you should not have self-doubt in a relationship. “First you need to identify where the self-doubt is coming from,” she said. “I think that goes back to always being yourself from the beginning.”
Serena, who has been linked to several stunning men, including Common and Drake, added, “Be confident of your inner strength and beauty, and that will be reflected on the outside. My mom always taught my sisters and me to be ourselves and to stay true to who we are.”
In the article, titled Love Letters: Serena Williams On Love, the 34-year-old also answered a question most women wonder: What’s the best way to dress for a date?
“It’s really important to be yourself since your true colors will show through in the end,” she said. “And always add heels!”
And while Williams is dishing out dating tips, the star is also focused on the upcoming Australian Open.
On Friday morning, Williams and Maria Sharapova were drawn into the same section, which will make for an entertaining quarterfinal. Williams was victorious over Sharapova last year for the title and hasn’t taken a L from the number 5 seed since 2004.
CodeBlack Could Redeem Itself With New Omar Epps, Paula Patton Flick
No shade to CodeBlack Films, but it’s last flick, All Eyes On Me, was kind of a disaster. From the poor ratings and reviews, to stars like Jada Pinkett Smith and 50 Cent slamming the film, folks just weren’t feeling it.
But that may all change with their new movie Traffik. The action-packed thriller slated for theaters April 27, 2018 stars Omar Epps, Paula Patton and Laz Alonso, and it looks pretty darn good.
Peep the trailer below.
In the film, Brea (Paula Patton) and John (Omar Epps) are off for a romantic weekend in the mountains. Isolated at a remote estate, the couple are surprised by the arrival of two friends, another couple, Darren (Laz Alonso) and Malia (Roselyn Sanchez). Just when the weekend starts to get back on track, a violent biker gang turns up and begins to torment them. The foursome are forced to fight for their lives against a gang who will stop at nothing to protect their secrets.
The film is written and directed by Deon Taylor. Patton is also a producer.
