While Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee are speaking out about lack of diversity with this year’s Academy Awards, Chris Brown and Young Jeezy are speaking out about the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.
The rapper and r&b crooner both took to social media to address the horrific crisis in Flint, Jeezy, specifically suggesting we should be more worried about the lead contaminated water instead of award shows.
On Tuesday night, Gov. Rick Snyder will make a state of the state speech and address the citizens of Flint who are infuriated by the water crisis.
Back in 2014, the water source was switched from Lake Huron to the Flint River as a cost effective measure. In April 2014, residents started to complain about taste, look and smell of the water, but complaints went ignored.
It’s being reported that due to the crisis, every child in Flint under the age of six, roughly 8,657, is considered to be exposed to lead, which has also led to serious health issues.
