Iman Shumpert has quite a bit to celebrate: His engagement, preparing to be a first time father and now, a brand new music video.
The NBA player might be helping assist LeBron and company with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the athlete, who just engaged to his pregnant boo, Teyana Taylor, is also busy putting out new music.
The athlete just dropped a brand new visual for his track, “Promised,” featuring his real live love interest. “The song is about keeping my promise to people that I love and all the stuff I ever said I was gonna do,” Shumpert said.
In the visual, Shumpert spits his tracks while his lady’s pregnant silhouette cuts in and out. Later, Taylor can be seen in a gorgeous black, sheer dress while delivering an incredible melody.
“The emotion I wanted to capture, that breakdown part of the video, was telling the story of [Teyana] feeling something new, something real that no one could take away,” he explained. “I think [Director Sasha Samsonova] did a great job of trying to capture that story.”
As previously reported, Taylor and Shumpert got engaged earlier this month. The couple will be welcoming their first child together at the top of the year.
