Kanye West Causes Major Controversy At NYFW

By  |

Kanye West caused quite the uproar during NYFW.

So apparently, Yeezy wanted to add a last-minute fashion show for September 16 at 12 p.m to the NYFW calendar, but what the rapper failed to consider was that there were two other major shows happening at the exact same time.

Designer Anne Bowen, who was set to launch her anticipated street collection, Nomad VII by Anne Bowen, and famed designer, Naeem Khan were both scheduled to showcase their latest designs the same time as Yeezy … But it was Bowen who really showed her outrage.

“We have been prepping for a year for this at considerable financial, labor- and commitment-cost to our company. Our show date has been scheduled for months and has been on the Fashion Calendar for weeks,” Bowen told WWD on Sunday. “We went through all the proper channels to make this a reality. And just yesterday we learned that Kanye West is having a show at the same time on the same date as ours.”

Bowen continued, “Kanye knows he is a media sensation and it is just not ethical to do this. It’s like we are David and he is Goliath. We have put our heart and soul into our show and should not be stepped on like this.”

According CFDA CEO. Steven Colb, West never put his show on the calendar so it was a surprise for everyone.

Bowen will now show her new collection on the 17th at 12:30 p.m. at her original location.

She needed the publicity so this is what she does! The people that will attend Kanye’s show would never go to her show and she knows that, but she also knows that people know who Kanye is but who the hell are you and what do you know about street style, she looks like she’s from Bev Hills! (seen a picture of her)
