Nicki Minaj is stepping onto the small screen for a brand new series about her own life. Now THIS … should be good.

The Trinidadian beauty confirmed via Instagram on Tuesday morning that she will be producing and appearing in a new ABC Family comedy that will chronicle the rapper’s life growing up in Queens, NY with her immigrant family.

“I’m so excited to share this news with you guys,” she wrote.

“Nicki Minaj is a force to be reckoned with at everything she touches,” said ABC Family’s EVP Programming and Development Karey Burke. “Nicki is an international superstar, yet not everyone knows how inspiring and hilarious her true story is, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”

Minaj, legal name Onika Tanya Maraj, has dabbled in acting, but according to the rapper, “This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on. I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.”

Stepping in front of the camera will be easy for the star who not only studied acting at LaGuardia High School, but played alongside Cameron Diaz in the rom com, The Other Woman, where she played Diaz’s hilarious, confident assistant.

Prior to the release of the 2014 film, Nicki revealed to Marie Claire that she was interested in doing more acting. “I at least want to do three more albums. If I can do that, I’ll feel complete … One day, when I start getting a couple gray hairs, maybe it will all be only acting. I just never know,” the artist shared.

Production is set to shoot the pilot episode this winter in Queens.

Jennifer Hudson has been granted a protective order against her former fiancé, David Otunga.

Apparently, after 10 years together, Jennifer and David broke-up for several months ago. However, things turned extremely sour while the pair were trying to work out a custody situation for their 8-year-old son, David Jr. According to the protection order, Jennifer claims the former wrestler exhibited “aggressive, threatening and harassing behavior toward me.” She also says, “I am now living in fear of further action David might take.”

After receiving the order of protection on Thursday, cops showed up to Hudson’s home, that she shared with David, and escorted him out.

Otunga’s attorney vehemently denies any wrongdoing on David’s behalf and claims that Jennifer is using this protection order as a ploy to get the courts to give her primary physical custody of David Jr.
