Transgender Model Added to Cast of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’
It’s looking like a good week for the Transgender community. First the White House hires it’s first transgender employee, and now, rumor has it, Bravo has added transgender woman Amiyah Scott to the cast of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Bravo has yet to put out an official statement regarding her involvement, but cameras have caught Scott at an event where other cast-members were taping scenes for season 8. A source close to production told Variety that Bravo hasn’t decided if Scott will be a “full-time housewife” or just a “friend of a housewife”, but the move either way marks the first-ever transgender woman to be featured in the “Real Housewives” franchise.
Scott, who resides in Atlanta, began her transition ten years ago at the age of 17. According to the blogs, she is a video model and has been linked to several rappers. We’re sure Ms. Scott will be spilling some of that hot tea on the show. We’re just wondering how she is going to mesh with returning cast members, namely Phaedra Parks, who is a serious stan for Jesus. Oh, and then there’s rumored new cast member, actress Kim Fields, who was brought in to replace Nene Leakes, and is said to be extremely opinionated. Sounds like it’s going to be a juicy season. Will you be watching?
