49ers Star Aldon Smith Arrested For DUI And Hit And Run
[UPDATE:] The Santa Clara Police Department says they received a call around 8:46 pm on Thursday night about a collision involving a parked car. Turns out, Aldon Smith was parking his vehicle and collided with a parked vehicle in Santa Clara.
Officials say after the collision, Smith exited his vehicle and caused additional damage to the parked vehicle with his car door. Smith left the scene without leaving his identifying information at the scene, but we are told he came back to the scene where he was contacted by officers. Smith displayed signs of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage so officials administered a file sobriety test.
Smith was eventually arrested for being under the DUI, Hit&Run, and Vandalism.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
San Francisco 49ers star Aldon Smith was taken into custody late Thursday night after being busted for DUI, vandalism and hit and run. The Santa Clara Police Department confirmed the news on Twitter writing:
“From the PIO: SCPD arrested Aldon Smith last night for Hit&Run, DUI, and vandalism. A press release will be provided later this morning.”
This is not the first time the outside linebacker has run into legal problems. In 2012, he was arrested for a DUI while in Miami Beach. In 2013, Smith entered a rehab facility after getting into a car accident in San Jose, Ca. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.
And in 2014, Aldon was cuffed after getting into an altercation with a TSA agent at LAX. Smith was accused of carrying a bomb. Those charges were eventually dropped.
Calls to Aldon’s reps were not returned.
