Monday morning was bitter sweet for Serena Williams who beat her sister, Venus at Wimledon’s Centre Court.

In the duo’s 26th career match, Serena was victorious over  her sister 6-4, 6-3. Serena will now advance to the Wimbledon quarterfinals, but beating her sister wasn’t exactly easy. “It’s hard to feel excited about [beating] someone you root for all the time,” Serena shared with BBC following the match. “I don’t know how many more moments like this that we’ll have.”

Following the match, the sisters apparently hugged and walked off the court together. “It definitely doesn’t get easier,” Serena said. “But today I was out there and I just thought, ‘Wow, I’m 33, and she just turned 35, I don’t know how many more moments like this we’ll have.’

“I plan on playing for years but you never know if we’ll have the opportunity to face each other. I just took the moment in and I thought, ‘We’re at Wimbledon.’ I remember when I was 8 years old, we dreamed of this moment and it was kind of surreal for a minute there.”

Serena even shared a sweet message on Instagram, writing:

“There’s nothing I would not do for this brave inspirational woman @venuswilliams how fortunate I am to have u as my sister.”

If Serena, 33, is victorious through the next two rounds, including the US open, she will become the first player to complete a calendar-year Grand Slam.

Congrats to the incredible athlete.
