Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift had quite the Twitter exchange on Tuesday night.

The mini feud started after Nicki expressed her disappointment via the social media website that her video for “Anaconda” or “Feeling Myself” did not get a MTV Video Music Award nomination for Video of the Year.

“Hey guys thank you for my nominations. Did Feeling Myself miss the deadline or,” Minaj tweeted. “If I was a different ‘kind’ of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well.”

She added, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”

Nicki didn’t make clear who she was specifically talking about, but the nominees include Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar. And of the group, it was Taylor who jumped to defense and responded to Nicki’s tweets.

“@nickiminaj I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to put women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”

Nicki tweeted back:

“Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn’t say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this @taylorswift.” The rapper added, “@taylorswift13 I’m still confused as to why u just tweeted me when I made it abundantly clear.”

And in a tweet that was apparently quickly deleted, Swift tweeted:

“@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!! You’re invited to any stage I’m ever on.”

Sound off: Does Nicki make a valid point?

The MTV VMAs, which will be hosted by Miley Cyrus, will air live on Aug. 30. on MTV from the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Fans can now cast their votes online.

Jennifer Hudson has been granted a protective order against her former fiancé, David Otunga.

Apparently, after 10 years together, Jennifer and David broke-up for several months ago. However, things turned extremely sour while the pair were trying to work out a custody situation for their 8-year-old son, David Jr. According to the protection order, Jennifer claims the former wrestler exhibited “aggressive, threatening and harassing behavior toward me.” She also says, “I am now living in fear of further action David might take.”

After receiving the order of protection on Thursday, cops showed up to Hudson’s home, that she shared with David, and escorted him out.

Otunga’s attorney vehemently denies any wrongdoing on David’s behalf and claims that Jennifer is using this protection order as a ploy to get the courts to give her primary physical custody of David Jr.
