HipHollywood can confirm that WNBA star, Brittney Griner was taken into custody late Wednesday night for suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s official website, the Phoenix Mercury center’s fiancée, Tulsa Shock player, Glory Johnson was also arrested for suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct.

Goodyear police spokeswoman says they received a call around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon about reports of a fight. Upon arrival, both women were injured and later arrested.

Griner was released around 4 a.m. Thursday morning.

A representative from Mercury tells HipHollywood that they are “aware of the alleged incident” and that the franchise is “currently in the process of gathering additional information.”

Details about the alleged altercation are still unclear, but just two days ago, Griner took took to social media to express her love for her wife-to-be.

“EveryDay Every Second! I fall for you like I fell way back before I had the nerves to even approach you! @missvol25 My Queen My Rock My Universe,” she wrote.

CodeBlack Could Redeem Itself With New Omar Epps, Paula Patton Flick



No shade to CodeBlack Films, but it’s last flick, All Eyes On Me, was kind of a disaster. From the poor ratings and reviews, to stars like Jada Pinkett Smith and 50 Cent slamming the film, folks just weren’t feeling it.

But that may all change with their new movie Traffik. The action-packed thriller slated for theaters April 27, 2018 stars Omar Epps, Paula Patton and Laz Alonso, and it looks pretty darn good.

In the film, Brea (Paula Patton) and John (Omar Epps) are off for a romantic weekend in the mountains. Isolated at a remote estate, the couple are surprised by the arrival of two friends, another couple, Darren (Laz Alonso) and Malia (Roselyn Sanchez). Just when the weekend starts to get back on track, a violent biker gang turns up and begins to torment them. The foursome are forced to fight for their lives against a gang who will stop at nothing to protect their secrets.

The film is written and directed by Deon Taylor. Patton is also a producer.
