Some LA citizens are praising LA street artist, Plastic Jesus for his recent art expression around the city.
On Tuesday, Plastic Jesus posted seven signs around Hollywood with the words: “No Kardashian Parking Anytime” plastered across it. But it appears as though some folks are actually supportive of the new signs.
“I have no problem with it, I think it’s alright,” one man tells HipHollywood. “Probably wager to guess that people here are over them and I am one of them.”
Another woman tells us that “he is expressing his opinion and awareness and he has the right to do that.” She added, “They [The Kardashians] have money, they are rich and famous and they have special perks. So leave a little room for us middle class.”
Plastic Jesus tells The Hollywood Reporter that he thought of the idea after he was driving on Melrose Avenue and was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic due of the media frenzy in front of the family’s clothing store, Dash. Apparently, one of the famous sisters was walking out.
“The Kardashian family has become ingrained in our culture,” the artist tells THR. “We’ve allowed mainstream media to become so profit-driven, we are sacrificing genuine news stories to satiate our vapid celebrity obsessions.”
The signs, which were put up on Melrose Ave, LaBrea and Robertson, have since been taken down.
