Published

Kendrick Lamar is having the best year ever and it’s only April!

Not only did the Compton rapper score a number one album with the recent release of To Pimp A Butterfly, but he also scored in the love department, too. K. Dot has confirmed that he is engaged to his high school sweetheart, Whitney Alford.

King Kendrick stopped by Power 105’s The Breakfast Club and revealed that the rumors were true … he had indeed popped the question. When asked what made him take the big leap, Lamar responded, “You want to always have real people around you, period. Everybody that’s been around me has been around me since day one. People that been by your side, you’re supposed to honor that.” Kendrick also stated that, “I’m loyal to the soil”. Well, that’s a clever way to say til death do us part.

Whitney has been holding Kendrick down for the past 11 years and engagement rumors began when she was spotted with a huge rock on her finger while at K’s album signing.

Music’s most amazing night went down Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. and we have to say the night was all about the ladies!

That’s right the 45th American Music Awards had some major moments and some major girl power starting with Pink and Kelly Clarkson.

The duo got the show started singing R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts”, but it was their solo performances that had fans going nuts.

Kelly Clarkson returned to the stage and had everyone on their feet with a medley of her classic tracks and new single “Love So Soft.”

While Pink took her career to new heights leaping off the side of a building while performing her hit single “Beautiful Trauma.”

Christina Aguilera, paid tribute to Whitney Houston with a commemorative performance for the 25th anniversary of The Bodyguard.

But the #Majah moment of the night had to be Diana Ross. The Motown legend was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, and performed some of her greatest hits before accepting the honor.
