If you’re thinking Kanye West is executive producing Tyga’s upcoming LP, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, because he’s with Kim’s little sister Kylie, think again. HipHollywood caught up with T-Raww at the launch of his new L.A. Gear sneaker and he told us it all came about a couple years ago, and was pretty organic.
“He really just hit me up one day and was like come by the studio,” explained the 25 year old. “It was like a 3 hour drive but when I got down there I felt like I was in school, and I was happy just to be there and to just learn and watch his creative process. Then much down the line of me coming to the studio and giving my input, he was like I’ll executive produce your album.”
Tyga who is no longer under Lil Wayne’s YMCMB label, has also said the album will be much darker than his previous projects. “He heard things in the music that I didn’t hear or wasn’t looking for,” Tyga told The Low Down with Diana Madison . “It’s going to show people the potential and get to the roots when I started doing music, the feeling I wanted to create when I first started.”
The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty will be Tyga’s 4th studio album and is currently scheduled to be released sometime in 2015 independently by Last Kings Entertainment.
It’s Litty! Migos, Jaden Smith & More Turn Up At ‘Bright’ World Premiere
Netflix definitely made sure the world premiere for their new flick Bright was lit!
Before the films stars including Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, Edgar Ramierez and Noomi Rapace hit the black carpet, Migos surprised fans with a pop-up performance.
Smith’s son Jaden also rocked the packed crowd at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood.
Artists featured on the soundtrack BRIGHT: THE ALBUM including Portugal The Man, Machine Gun Kelly, Ty Dolla $ign, Kiiara, Slushie, Grey, Dram, and Bebe Rexha also hit up the premiere.
Will also snapped some fun flicks with his son Jaden before greeting fans and speaking with reporters including HipHollywood.
He told HipHollywood that he was super excited to reunite with his Suicide Squad director David Ayer for the film, and would “work with him whenever he wants to.“
“I love his madness how he creates,” gushes Smith. “How he thinks about scenes, the way he works with actors, it’s some of the best psychological work of any director I’ve ever worked with.”
In the film Smith plays an LAPD cop in a mythical world of orcs, elves and fairies … and Ayer told us, he couldn’t think of anyone better for the role.
“We had such a good time on Suicide Squad together and this role is kind of perfect for him, it’s an edgy movie, buts it’s funny. He’s got the best sense of humor of anybody I know.”
BRIGHT debuts on Netflix December 22. Peep the newest trailer below.
