Kerry Washington Opens Up About Ferguson Episode + Daughter Isabelle

Published

Kerry Washington’s daughter Isabelle will be one year old next month and still no one has seen her face … and probably never will.

While celebrating the 32nd annual PaleyFest, the cast of Scandal held a screening and Q&A for their fans. While most of the question focused on the show, including their recent Ferguson-inspired episode, one question did get Kerry to open up about her baby girl.

When the cast was asked where is baby Teddy (the First Son) and Ella (Cyrus’ daughter), Washington answered, “They’re hiding out with baby Isabelle.” Of course she was joking and the crowd got a good chuckle out of it, but it’s also a tad bit true. The notoriously private actress has kept her precious off-spring out of the limelight. So much so, that this is the only pic many have seen of her.

HipHollywood caught up with Kerry’s cast members, who have actually seen baby Belle, and they raved about how she’s an extraordinary working mom. “I love seeing her kind of turn off the work clock and mostly just get a kick out of the last thing and the next thing that her daughter’s doing,” Jeff Perry who plays Cyrus stated. Darby Stanchfeld, who plays Abbey, echoed those sentiments revealing, “I just think she’s happy!”

I would like to see Isabelle to see which parent she resembles. Then again I can understand why Kerry is protective….people have no shame when talking about people kids. I’m even guilty of saying something I shouldn’t have.

To say Wonder is a must see movie is an understatement! Not only will the film touch you and inspire you to be a better person, it will also entertain you from start to finish.

But don’t take our word for it. HipHollywood sat down with the film’s stars Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson who shared their excitement to bring this heartwarming story to life and how they channeled their real-life parenting skills into the role.

“I think we felt a responsibility to be authentically parents and authentically parents to these two kids, said the 50 year old mother of three. “And I think that’s why you really believe these four people are family and are really having this experience together.”

In the film based on the NY times best seller, Roberts and Wilson play the parents of a teenage daughter (Izabela Vidovic) and 10-year-old boy (Jacob Tremblay) with facial differences entering mainstream elementary school for the first time.

When asked if they had any advice for their ten year old selves, Roberts said: “I have a ten year old son and I tell him to run.”

Meanwhile Wilson says he remembers 5th grade vividly, and enjoyed having his brother Andrew Wilson at the same school to protect him. “It helped so much having an older brother who was already at the school, so that would be the advice I’d give, have a cool older brother.”

Wonder hits theaters November 17, just one day before Wilson’s 49th birthday.
