Kathy Griffin Quits ‘Fashion Police’

Published

Kathy Griffin took to social media on Thursday evening to announce that she was stepping down as host of E!’s Fashion Police.

Griffin took over as host following the tragic death of comedian, Joan Rivers. Kathy’s decision to leave the show comes just weeks after co-host Giuliana Rancic made an offensive comment about Zendaya Coleman’s locs and after co-host, Kelly Osbourne quit the show.

“When I  chose to step into the shoes of my beloved friend Joan Rivers at Fashion Police, I was thrilled to continue her legacy as a woman being brash and eccentric on television,” the comedian wrote in a lengthy message on Instagram. “I thought that I could bring my brand of humor to Fashion Police so that beautiful people in beautiful dresses could be teased when appropriate.”

She continued. “After 7 episodes of Fashion Police, I discovered that my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show & now it’s time to move on. I wish E! and the E! team only the best and I hope to continue to make you all laugh performing live or on television where I can be smart, irreverent, unrepentant and unafraid in a observational way that is candied, honest and justified.”

Following the announcement of Griffin’s departure, Osbourne tweeted:

“I could not be more proud of you @kathygriffin you have my love and support always!”

According to a statement released by E!, “Fashion Police will return, as scheduled, on Monday, March 30, at 9 p.m. with our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, and executive producer Melissa Rivers.”

“No further information is available at this time,” the statement read.

Reports: Mariah Carey Signs With Jay Z’s RocNation

We know Mariah Carey changes managers like she changes clothes, but her next move could be her best move. According to Page Six Carey is in talks with Jay Z’s Roc Nation to manage her career.

Roc Nation manages Rihanna, Shakira, J Cole and DJ Khaled to name a few.

Apparently, the pop diva is hoping Hov and his team can put her back on top now that she parted ways with former manager Stella Bulochnikov earlier this month.

Sources tell HipHollywood Carey is cleaning house, and has also fired her publicist, assistant and attorney Darrell Miller.

But one person who hasn’t gotten the boot is her back-up dancer boyfriend Bryan Tanaka. Rumors were swirling that she hired Tanaka to take over her day-to-day management, but he’s actually her creative director.

Carey just released her holiday movie Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You, and is slated to bring her Christmas concerts back to the Beacon Theater in NYC this month. She hasn’t however dropped a new album in almost four years.

Fingers crossed this new partnership with Roc Nation brings about new music, and a Mariah / Jay Z collaboration. The two did make magic back in 1999 with their #1 single “Heartbreaker.”
