Actor Harrison Ford was seriously injured after a plane he was piloting crashed Thursday afternoon on a Los Angeles golf course. The 72-year-old actor was conscious and breathing when rescue crews reached him, but suffered a serious gash to his head.
Ford was stabilized and taken to a hospital, where he was listed in fair to moderate condition. No word on what caused the plane to crash at about 2:20 p.m. PST. It appeared he was flying solo.
This isn’t the first time the avid flyer was involved in a plane crash. In 1999 Ford’s Bell chopper crashed due to a mechanical failure during landing.
