Eddie Murphy’s comeback is in full effect!
After appearing on the 40th anniversary of Saturday Night Live, and locking in a few upcoming films (Cook, Triplets and Beverly Hills Cop 4), the funny man is positioning himself for another major movie.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Murphy is being considered for the role of Richard Pryor’s father, LeRoy “Bucks” Pryor, in the upcoming Lee Daniels directed project.
Now, this picture Lee posted on Instagram is starting to make sense.
Strap in and brace yourself. They done let me and him out of our cages! #idonteventhinkimreadyforthisone! #excited #proud #OMG
In addition to Eddie, ET has confirmed that Kate Hudson has been casted to play Pryor’s wife, Jennifer Pryor (who is a producer on the film), and Oprah Winfrey (who is also a producer on the film) will play the comedian’s grandmother, Marie Carter.
As previously reported, Mike Epps has been tapped to take on the lead role in the biopic that, as of right now, doesn’t have a release date.
