Brownstone singer, Charmayne Maxwell passed away on Friday night after a horrific cut to her neck.
The singer’s brother, Brandon confirmed the news via Twitter on Saturday and expressed his sadness following his sister’s passing.
“R.I.P my beautiful sister Charmayne “Maxee” Maxwell. I can’t even believe I’m typing this right now,” he wrote. “Bad things happened to the most innocent people. My sister died in the most terrible way and I’m in so much pain right now. I can’t stop shaking.”
TMZ first broke the story, Maxwell was found unconscious and bleeding profusely inside her LA home by her husband, music producer Carsten Soulshock. According to a family member, it appeared as though she fell and cut her neck on glass.
Maxwell was rushed to Cedars Sinai but died in route after losing a large amount of blood. LAPD later went to the home of the singer and confirmed that it was a wine glass that cut Charmayne’s neck.
The 46-year-old had just come home from her son’s soccer game and was home alone with him. Police do not suspect foul play.
Brownstone, which consisted of Monica “Mimi” Doby, Charmayne “Maxee” Maxwell and Nichole “Nicci” Gilbert was a hot 90’s r&b group whose hit tracks include “If You Love Me” and “Grapevyne.”
