Law enforcement responded to a call around 4:20 a.m. about a massive fight that broke out at Drai’s Nightclub inside the Cromwell Hotel. While attempting break up the brawl of about 30 people, police apparently pulled The Weeknd from the crowd and into an elevator. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department tells us that is when the “Love Me Harder” singer hit one of the cops on the side of the head.
We are told that The Weeknd, who performed at the club on Friday night, was booked on one count of battery of a protected person. Abel Tesfaye, the singer’s legal name, was taken to the Clark County Detention Center where he later posted bail.
