Rosie Perez Leaving ‘The View?!’

Published

on

Rosie Perez is saying goodbye to The View.

Four months ago, Perez landed the coveted spot on the hit morning show alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell and Nicolle Wallace, but now, the talkshow is planning her departure. According to Variety, the host, who is taking a brief hiatus from the show to appear on Broadway’s Fish in the Dark, will not be returning.

According to the news outlet, producers are currently trying to figure out a replacement, possibly someone younger. Insiders tell Variety that Rosie never got a “hang of the show’s mixture of hard and soft news, and she had trouble reading from a Teleprompter.”

When the actress, most known for her roles in White Men Can’t Jump and Spike Lee’s, Do The Right Thing first joined the cast, she tweeted.

“Thank you for all the wonderful comments! I am truly touched. Excited to be a part of an amazing show and a great team of women.”

Rosie has not yet responded to reports of her leaving. HipHollywood reached out to her camp for comment, but so far no word back.

Will also snapped some fun flicks with his son Jaden before greeting fans and speaking with reporters including HipHollywood.

He told HipHollywood that he was super excited to reunite with his Suicide Squad director David Ayer for the film, and would “work with him whenever he wants to.

“I love his madness how he creates,” gushes Smith. “How he thinks about scenes, the way he works with actors, it’s some of the best psychological work of any director I’ve ever worked with.”

In the film Smith plays an LAPD cop in a mythical world of orcs, elves and fairies … and Ayer told us, he couldn’t think of anyone better for the role.

“We had such a good time on Suicide Squad together and this role is kind of perfect for him, it’s an edgy movie, buts it’s funny. He’s got the best sense of humor of anybody I know.”

BRIGHT debuts on Netflix December 22. Peep the newest trailer below.
