Talk about a pleasant surprise.
Katy Perry will be joined by the lovely and talented Missy Elliott on Sunday afternoon for the Super Bowl halftime show, this according to several reports. As Katy delivers some of her popular tracks, Missy will apparently jump in for a special rendition of “Work It.”
During a press conference on Thursday, Katy hinted abut the surprise appearance, although according to The Associate Press, has not been officially revealed to the NFL yet. “This guest, though, I thought long and hard about it,” Perry explained. “I wanted to bring someone back, a throwback of sorts.”
She added, “When you hear the first ring of the chord. I think jaws will drop and faces will melt.”
This won’t be the first time Perry and Missy will have collaborated. The female rapper jumped on the remix to Katy’s track, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) in 2011. Sunday’s performance will also feature, Lenny Kravitz.
The Seattle Seahawks will take on the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. on NBC.
