A handful of celebrities have come forward to defend Bill Cosby against the recent sex assault scandal that has completely tarnished his reputation. But one Hollywood A lister not backing the comedian up is director, Judd Apatow.
“I absolutely would like to see him in jail,” he said during a recent interview on WTF With Marc Maron. “That’s where people who commit sexual assaults go. At the very least, go in your mansion and disappear for the rest of your life.”
Over the past several months, more than two dozen women have come forward claiming that they were sexually assaulted or drugged by Bill nearly 20,30, 40 years ago. Cosby had remained relatively mum about the accusations until his recent comedy show in London, Ontario. During the 72-year-old’s routine, he poked fun at himself and the allegations, which Apatow believes was inappropriate.
“He shouldn’t be rewarded and applauded for raping that many women,” Apatow explained.
During the show, a woman apparently was getting up from her seat and Bill asked where she was going. When the woman said she was going to get a drink and if he wanted one, Bill replied, “I already have one. You have to be careful about drinking around me.”
Cosby’s lawyer, Marty Singer, has addressed the accusations on numerous occasions … in November, he sent Hollywood the following statement:
“We are dealing with these people who are coming out of the woodwork with unsubstantiated or fabricated stories about our client.”
