Who knew Gina Rodriguez had bars?!
The Jane The Virgin star is Hollywood’s newest “It” girl and rightly so. The multi-talented actress is not only a scene stealer on the small screen, but she could also have the rap game on lock if she wanted to! Rodriguez covers the latest issue of Latina and in the mag she explains that while she showed off her stellar skills in the 2012 film “Filly Brown”, she would never do music full time.
“[After Filly Brown] they wanted me to get into music,” she told Latina, “but I think I’m an okay singer; I’m not very confident in singing. I can’t mess with that, like I wouldn’t even try to.”
Gina also shows of her gorgeous figure in Latina and sat down with Adriene Bailon to discuss body image and rocking her curves.
“It really all does stem from the self and when you have not accepted who you are when the images tell you that you’re not skinny enough or pretty enough, you believe it to a point of like ‘If I change, then I’ll be able to get this’, ‘If I just lose this, then I can get something.’ And I just refused for that to be the reality because I will be the lead, because I fall in love in real life all the time, [because] this body type does real well in the real world!”
Yessssss, Gina! Check out the Golden Globe winner’s Latina cover and impressive rap skills below
Top Five Moments From The 2018 SAG Awards
Celebrities filled the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday night for the 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards and the night was full of great moments. Here are the top highlights from the show.
It was a big night for Sterling K. Brown who made history after becoming the first Black actor to win the category for Outstanding Performance by a Male in a Drama Series. Brown not only took home the award for his role on NBC’s This Is Us, but he also received a second SAG award for Best Ensemble.
Morgan Freeman was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, making a seemingly short and awkward speech. While receiving the honor, he called out an audience member for talking.
“Hey … I’m talking to you. Yeah, hey,” the 80-year-old said. “Okay, well you just stand out to me. That’s all.” Freeman then explained, “These moments in one’s life usually will call for an entire litany of thank yous.”
And we’ve said it before and we will say it again, Olivia Munn and Niecy Nash need their own show. The pair provided comedic relief yet again while announcing the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male in a Drama Series.
When discussing who gets to announce the winner, Nash explained she gets to say Sterling’s name if he when’s because “he’s Black.” She did however explain Munn “can say anyone who is Asian who is nominated.”
