BTS: Inside The SAG Awards Production & Official After Party

Published

The countdown has begun. We are just days away from the 2015 SAG Awards and HipHollywood has gotten a little sneak peek behind the big production.

Every year, the decor for the anticipated show is more than spectacular, and this year, viewers can expect something a little different. With a take on classic Hollywood, the set will include oversized entry gates and stunning custom chandeliers. Celebrities will be served salmon with a truffle tomato vinergerette, chicken with lentils and a pecan with goat cheese kale salad.

HipHollywood caught up with the President of the SAG Foundation, JoBeth Williams, about the seating arrangements and what goes into the daunting task. “We look at the movie cast. We look at presenters that are going to be in the room. We look at people who are nominated. We make sure that they are seated so they can get on the stage quickly,” she explained.

And following the show, the stars will head over to the People Magazine and Entertainment Industry Foundation’s official after party. “We created this incredible tent along with event designer Tony Schubert,” PEOPLE’s editor, Jen Garcia told HipHollywood. “He’s taken inspiration from the prohibition era and we’ve created a modern day speak easy. We’ve brought in some cool design elements like floating ceilings, we’ve got chain link chandeliers, and of course, we’ve got portraits of past SAG Award winners gracing the walls.”

The awards will air live on Sunday, January 25 at 8 p.m. ET on TBS.

Will also snapped some fun flicks with his son Jaden before greeting fans and speaking with reporters including HipHollywood.

He told HipHollywood that he was super excited to reunite with his Suicide Squad director David Ayer for the film, and would “work with him whenever he wants to.

“I love his madness how he creates,” gushes Smith. “How he thinks about scenes, the way he works with actors, it’s some of the best psychological work of any director I’ve ever worked with.”

In the film Smith plays an LAPD cop in a mythical world of orcs, elves and fairies … and Ayer told us, he couldn’t think of anyone better for the role.

“We had such a good time on Suicide Squad together and this role is kind of perfect for him, it’s an edgy movie, buts it’s funny. He’s got the best sense of humor of anybody I know.”

BRIGHT debuts on Netflix December 22. Peep the newest trailer below.
