It’s a love story for the ages — Barack and Michelle’s first date! The story has been told many times before, but now it’s heading to the big screen.

As it’s been told by the President, he had his sites set on a young Michelle Obama (née Robinson) when he embarked on a summer job at Chicago law firm where Robinson was a lawyer and his boss. After some convincing, the two went on a date and visited the Art Institute, took a long walk, and caught a showing of Spike Lee’s, Do The Right Thing.

According to Deadline, the beautiful love story will now be a movie titled, Southside With You. “Southside With You, a drama in the vein of Before Sunrise, chronicles the summer 1989 afternoon when the future President of the United States of America wooed his future First Lady on an epic first date across Chicago’s South Side,” the website states.

Casting for the film has already begun with Tika Sumpter scoring the role of Michelle Obama. Sumpter will also serve as one of the executive producers of the film as well. As of right now, no one has been cast to play young Barack, but “The Guardian” speculated possible stars could include Drake, Michael B. Jordan or even “Saturday Night Live” Obama impersonator Jay Pharaoh.

Filming is set to begin in July on location in Chicago.
