During a recent chat with Rolling Stones, Nicki Minaj was more than candid when discussing her teenage pregnancy and experiencing an abortion.
In the interview set to hit newsstands on Friday, the star admitted that she felt like she was “going to die” after learning she was with child. “I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through,” she said.
Minaj went on to tell the publication that the experience “haunted me all my life.” “It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice. I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.”
On the opening track of the rapper’s latest album The Pinkprint, the 32-year-old raps about how old her child would have been now.”My child with Aaron, would’ve have been sixteen, any minute,” she raps in “All Things Go.” “So in some ways I feel like ‘Caiah, is the both of them, It’s like he’s ‘Caiah’s little angel, looking over him.”
Nicki first opened up about her abortion on a mixtape called Autobiography which she tells the publication she didn’t expect anyone to hear. “Millions of people are gonna hear it. And you gotta watch everything you say,” she told RS. “People find an issue with every f*cking thing.”
