They absolutely BOMBED with the biopic Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, but let’s hope Lifetime can redeem themselves with Whitney.

A date has been set and new pictures have been released promoting the biopic of Whitney Houston’s life. The film will chronicle Houston’s (played by Yaya DaCosta) relationship with Bobby Brown (played by Arlen Escarpeta) from the time they first met at the very height of their celebrity to their courtship and tumultuous marriage. Unlike the Aaliyah biopic, Whitney will actually feature many of the iconic singer’s massive hits including “The Greatest Love of All,” “I’m Your Baby Tonight,” “I’m Every Woman” and “I Will Always Love You”, all sang by Deborah Cox.

Directed Angela Bassett, Whitney will premiere on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 8pm ET/PT. Following the movie’s premiere, Lifetime will air the hour-long documentary Beyond the Headlines: Whitney Houston at 10pm, providing an in-depth look at the life and death of Houston.

Check out a few flicks from the film in the gallery below. Will you be tuning in to watch?

I think they will get this one right especially with Angela directing. She has ethics and morals and her name is on the line.

7 Most Jaw-Dropping Celeb Maternity Shoots

Published

There’s nothing more beautiful than a pregnant woman. There’s no debate … fight us. When a woman is carrying life in her womb she exudes beauty, grace and, of course, that pregnancy glow. But these celebrities took “pregnancy glow” to a whole ‘other level! Check out these stunning maternity shoots that left us with our jaws on the floor.

Toya Wright just released the photos from her maternity shoot and they are absolutely stunning. No matter how you feel about pregnancy nudity (seriously, if you’re against it you’re lame) you have to admit that this is tasteful and beautiful. Wright is expecting her second daughter Reign later this year.

And speaking of Toya, her bestie Tameka “Tiny” Harris also bared her body in a beautiful maternity photo shoot. When pregnant with her youngest daughter, Heiress Harris, Tiny got super creative with her look and went for an underwater theme that resulted in some gorgeous pics.

It was a family affair for Ciara who posed with her son Future, and husband Russell Wilson, in her maternity pic. This photo got everyone on the internet talking … was it weird? Beautiful? Awkward? We’ll let you decided. But, you have to admit, it definitely caught your attention. Ci Ci gave birth to her daughter Sienna almost a year ago … but we have yet to see her face.

The GOAT shared her glow with Vanity Fair and shut. it. down! Serena Williams gave us all the side-bump envy with her beautifully natural maternity shoot for the mag. The tennis phenom welcomed her baby girl, Alexis Olympia, on September 1st of last year.

Teyana Taylor is body goals and when she was pregnant with baby Junie she was definitely baby bump goals, too. Just look at this photo! Taylor and her hubby, NBA star Iman Shumpert, decided to highlight not only her beauty, but his strength in this photo shoot and the result was stunning.

Now, y’all already knew the Kels was going to slay her maternity shoot, and slay she did! Kelly Rowland gave us not one, but two awe-inspiring preggo pics that show why her nickname is the Godvia goddess. Get into that glow! Baby Titan did a body good.

And lest we forget Rowland’s homegirl, Beyonce! She did not come to play with you h*es, #FormationVoice. A bouquet of flowers, a bare belly and a veil over her face … many said the photo was over-the-top, but it’s ‘Yonce — what did you expect?! Queen Bey’s announcement of the impending arrival of twins, Rumi and Sir, was downright regal and quite different from how she announced baby Blue Ivy (the MTV mic drop heard round the world.)

Who was your fave? Or do you think we forgot someone? Be sure to let us know in the comment section below!
