Kevin Hart is screaming “My name is Bennett and I ain’t in it!” when it comes to the recent Sony email hacking scandal. HipHollywood caught up with the comedian while he was hosting a toy give-a-way on Tuesday afternoon with Clippers guard Chris Paul, and he told us he’d rather stay out of it.
“At the end of the of day I’m a talent, and as a talent I do what I’m supposed to do which is put smiles on peoples faces,” Hart said. “The stuff that is going on now doesn’t involve me in any way shape or form, it’s going to unfold how it’s going to unfold. Unfortunately its unfolding now, I think when it comes to a head it will, but I’m far from it, I’m separate.”
On November 24, Sony Entertainment, the parent company to Screen Gems, was the target of hacking group Guardians of Peace which leaked company wide emails and documents. In one email Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper referred to Hart as a “whore” for wanting more money to promote one of his films on Twitter.
Hart will next be seen in the Screen Gem’s comedy The Wedding Ringer. He was slated to do a press junket for the film on Saturday, December 13, but it was postponed following the email leak. When asked if the leak would affect the film, Hart remained aloof stating, “I don’t have any concern over that. I’m a talent, I don’t control that world.”
In the meantime Hart is focused on making kids smile this holiday season.
