You’ll Never Guess Who Taught Kerry Washington How To Dance

Published

Kerry Washington learned how to pop, lock and drop during her days hanging out at the Boys and Girls Club in the Bronx. But who actually taught the Scandal star how to dance? The one and only Jennifer Lopez. Yep, Jenny from the Block.

“We had this amazing dance teacher, Larry, and Jennifer actually used to substitute teach when Larry wasn’t around,” Washington said during a recent interview with Yahoo. “You wouldn’t know it from my build, but Jennifer taught me how to dance. And I remember when she left the Boys club because she was leaving New York to go to LA to try and make it big and we were all like, “Oh my gosh.”

Basically, Kerry could’ve been a “Fly Girl” just like Lopez, but needless to say, it all worked out perfectly for both New York natives.

During the Scandal star’s chat with the Internet corporation, the mom of 6-month-old Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha, also opened up about being in the public eye or on a red carpet when feeling down or just exhausted.

“I tend to think about those moments on the red carpet as being a character called the “red carpet Kerry.” I try to step into that. I don’t mean deny the fear—I don’t deny my feelings on a bad day—but I kind of try to invite myself to shift into something else to pull it together. You don’t have to handle things alone, you can reach out and get help from close friends and family. Sometimes I try to imagine, “Well what would I do if Mother Theresa showed up at my door right now?” I would pull it together! What if Michelle Obama called me right now? I would pull it together. And not to deny who I am, but to sort of go, “OK, how can I dig deep and get in my stronger self in this moment.”

Blue Ivy Aka Mini Sasha Fierce Already Rockin’ Pumps

Blue Ivy is on the road to being just as fierce as her famous mother, Beyonce.

The Queen Bey shared a series of videos and images on Monday night rocking a colorful ensemble, including a pair of sparkly pink pumps.

In the videos, the singer strikes different poses while showing off the flirty look, but as always, it was Blue who stole the show after being photographed in the same pair of heels.

A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce) on

In one photo, the 5-year-old, clad in a pink pajama set, can be seen leaning over a couch while wearing the heels. In another, you simply see the shoes ill fitted on the cutie’s feet.

There’s no doubt Blue will not only grow up to be a fashionista like her mother, but will most likely become a musical genius.

On Jay Z’s latest album 4:44, Blue lands on one of her famous father’s tracks and kills it with a freestyle.

During “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family,” BI raps for a long 45 seconds about … well … we aren’t sure. But here’s what she’s possibly saying: “Everything, everything is my only single thing / Everything I hear is my answer…I never hear that / I be in the posse / Never seen a ceiling in my whole life, Boom shakalaka / Boom shakalaka / Everything in shaka / Everything in faka.”
