In an interview set to air on Friday, Nick Cannon opens up about his split from r&b diva, Mariah Carey on The Meredith Vieira Show. According to the comedian, the most difficult thing has been going through the split in the public eye.
“The media, they can say whatever they want to say and obviously, because you are not giving them anything, so they kind of create all these stories and make it way worse than it actually is,” Cannon said.
During the star’s chat with Meredith, he expressed the most bogus rumor circulating about the divorce is the “dispute” over the estranged couple’s Jack Russell. “They just make up all of these things. It’s truly just staying focused on family and what’s right and getting through these times and doing what’s right for the kids, so that’s just where we are.”
Cannon goes on to confirm that their he and the singer’s 4-year-old twins, Monroe and son Moroccan are doing well and haven’t noticed a difference in lifestyle.
“Being the fact our situation, we have always been people who have been on the go coming and going, their life hasn’t changed one bit. We spend holidays together, we do everything that we are supposed to do together as a family.”
Earlier this month, the Wild N’ Out creator made headlines after being spotted shirtless, exposing his newly covered Mariah tattoo. The star revealed that the piece of work will be something special.
“It’s like a whole work of art, my entire back and my arm and everything,” he said. “I was leaving the gym going into the studio just having had that work done and they [the paparazzi] got me. It’s going to be a big reveal, but it’s not finished, it’s half-way done. It’s a lot of pain.”
Who’s Really Delusional? Charlamagne Can’t Quite Comprehend Amara La Negra’s Colorism Issues
This is uncomfortable to watch.
Love & Hip Hop Miami star Amara La Negra stopped by The Breakfast Club for a chat about her life, career and experience with colorism. Unfortunately, the interview started of awkwardly when Charlamagne’s first questions was, “What are you?” You see, for whatever reason, the radio host was confused about La Negra’s Afro-Latina heritage. And while there’s nothing wrong with an honesty inquiry, it was the way he asked the question that was off-putting. But, it didn’t stop there.
Charlamange, along to co-host, DJ Envy, repeatedly asked the reality star what was her “struggle”, ignorantly assuming that colorism isn’t a thing anymore because of all the advancements in the entertainment industry that have occurred. Yet, and still, you don’t see artist of Amara’s hue celebrated on any Latina platform such as Univision or Telemundo. The host, with the exception of Angela Yee, then proceeded to deduce Amara’s issue to being a problem that’s “all in (her) head”, even referencing the success of Cardi B. as evidence of La Negra’s delusion. You have to watch this to believe it…
