Despite some of his recent woes, Columbus Short appears to be happy and radiant … Won’t love do it?
The actor’s new boo, Rashida Russel posted an uber sweet message on Instagram earlier this week, revealing to the world that she supports Short no “matter what.”
“I #SMILE even when he #CANT I just tell the truth, it’s not a game for me. I got his back, no matter what!! @officialcshort #TheyKeepTryingIt.”
In response, Short wrote back: “Sometimes you just need someone who can smile for you when you don’t feel like it. Thank you for being you @loverasheeda.”
On Wednesday, the actor also made Rashida his “Woman Crush Wednesday,” captioning the snapshot:
“Drum Roll Please……my #WCW is @loverasheeda Grace, Integrity, Loyal, Class. #TakeNote #BLOCKHOUSE.”
Short has had quite a troubling year. The actor, who got fired from ABC’s Scandal, has also faced a string of legal woes. Back in February, the 32-year-old was arrested after being accused of physically abusing his estranged wife, Tanee McCall-Short. In March, the actor was taken into custody on suspicion of felony battery with serious bodily injury after attacking a man at a Los Angeles bar. And in August, Short was arrested after failing to appear in court stemming from the criminal domestic violence case.
Short was supposed to appear in court in July, but opted for a vacation in Barbados instead. The judge issued an arrest warrant and set bail at $40,000. After skipping another hearing, the judge upped the bail to $500,000. When Short finally showed up, he was taken into custody.
