Published

on

Tyler Perry, the father of a mutli-billion dollar production company, now might now be a fathering a human being.

According to gossip site Bossip, the Atlanta resident revealed to friends and family during his 45th birthday celebration over the weekend that he is going to be a dad. It was not made clear as to who the baby’s mother is, but we do know that Perry’s on-again, off-again model girlfriend of five years, Gelila Bekele is expecting.

Gelila’s friend, Pietro Mourao confirmed that the model was pregnant in an Instagram post (that’s since been deleted) five weeks ago.

Perry’s star studded birthday soiree was attended by some by some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including a Jennifer Holliday, Desiree Coleman Jackson, Tevin Campbell, Ledisi, Monica, Jazmine Sullivan, Tamia, Mary Mary, LeAnn Rimes, Yolanda Adams, Rachelle Ferrell and Stevie Wonder who all performed during the bash. (This is also means all these people were there to hear the 45-year-old’s apparent announcement.)

It’s no secret that entertainment mogul has longed to be a dad. During an interview with Steve Harvey back in April 2013, he explained that the one thing he has not yet accomplished was fatherhood. “I know I would be a great father. I don’t want to work this hard. I don’t want to have all of this and not leave it to my children,” Tyler said.

He added, “I also know that as hard as I’m working, doing twenty hours per day, now is not the time. Right now I’m enjoying what I’m doing. I’m enjoying the work. I’m enjoying being a bachelor, so eventually I’ll get there.”

It looks like he is finally made it.

Calls to Perry’s reps were not returned.

Sorry Folks! Martin Lawrence Doesn’t Think ‘Bad Boys 3’ Will Happen

Martin Lawrence has pretty much lost hope in plans for another Bad Boys film, and for good reason. Over the last few months, the long-gestating third installment has lost it’s director and release date.

Now according to Lawrence it may have even lost one of it’s boys – co-star Will Smith. “I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out,” Lawrence told EW. “Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

Just last December Smith told Jimmy Kimmel that Bad Boys 3 aka Bad Boys For Life,  was “very, very, very close” to beginning production. He also added of Lawrence, “I love that dude. That’s among the best times I’ve ever had making movies. So I’m looking forward to it.”

As for Lawrence, he’s ready if the project can get off life support. “I’m there, I’m ready right now,” said Lawrence. “If they wanted to do it, I’m ready, but I don’t have control of that. That’s the studio’s decision.”

Back in March, writer/director Joe Carnahan departed from the Sony Pictures’ flick after months of delays. And director Micheal Bay, who helmed both Bad Boys and Bad Boys II declined to return after too many set-backs. “Pretty soon its going to called Bad Old Boys because they can’t get it together with doing a script,” he told HipHollywood back in 2016. “Thats why I backed out of the process.”
